Eureka!
Sandra Margolian and Mariela Borello

July 10 to August 6, 2006

A lyrical installation composed of paper and sound work, by two Concordia staff members who divide their time between administration and maintaining their art practices. The paper work utilises the Morse code, one of the earliest network communication tools. It spells out a message that physically punctuates the corridor inside the vitrine, while a sound component reiterates the visual message.

The artists have chosen the Morse code to express the dual function of the EV Building, shared between Engineering and Visual Arts. The work illustrates the shared moment of discovery, the “Eureka!” moment.
