(Projection Gallery) Katherine Jerkovic presents her installation, BLEUI (Middle Sky) , featuring two silent, single channel video projections mounted side by side. Inspired by the digital editing interfaces, where the cut is displayed as a juxtaposition of two shots, BLEUI explores the idea of a contiguous unfolding of time and space. This physical display of the cut is also intended to reflect on ellipsis and the missing. Shot on the Uruguayan coast the images evoke, with their "elsewhereness," the imaginary landscape of emigrants - a place suspended between the lost original and the promised land.
