Max Beer is a researcher at the Centre of Oral History and Digital Storytelling at Concordia University. The project, Postwar: Holocaust Survivors and the Montreal Jewish Community involves the production of a documentary film based on a study of Holocaust survivors from the aftermath of the war to their lives in displaced persons camps and their integration into the Montreal Jewish community.

Deena Dlusy-Apel has been an educator all her adult life. After teaching pre-school for several years, she returned to teachers’ college and then proceeded to teach high school English and art for more than 20 years. After early retirement, she returned to university, redid her BFA and completed an MA in art education. Throughout this time she continued to be an active visual artist. Both in her teaching and in her art she has tried to convey the importance of social consciousness and the ability to express oneself politically through artwork.

Max Beer est chercheur au Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling de l'Université Concordia. Le projet, Postwar: Holocaust Survivors and the Montreal Jewish Community implique la production d'un film documentaire basé sur une étude des survivants de l'Holocauste des séquelles de la guerre à leur vie dans les camps de personnes déplacées et leur intégration dans la communauté juive de Montréal.

Deena Dlusy-Apel a été un éducateur toute sa vie d'adulte. Après avoir enseigné l'école maternelle pendant plusieurs années, elle est retournée à l'école normale et ensuite pour enseigner l'anglais du secondaire et de l'art depuis plus de 20 ans. Après la retraite anticipée, elle est retournée à l'université, a refait son baccalauréat et d'une maîtrise en éducation des arts. Tout au long de cette période, elle a continué à être un artiste active visuelle. Elle a essayé de faire comprendre l'importance de la conscience sociale et la capacité de s'exprimer politiquement par oeuvre.
